The New England Emu Association was founded in 1999 to support the needs of New England farmers with a network to share information and resources. Our mission:
- To encourage and promote the production, marketing, sales and commercial use of the emu and emu products.
- To promote and encourage high standards, conduct and ethics by means of study, discussion and education regarding the emu industry.
- To foster research and distribution of knowledge of the emu industry among the Membership, the general public and to broaden public understanding of the emu industry.
- To foster, promote, maintain and encourage the civic, social and economic welfare of the emu industry and to support a system of free, competitive enterprise and individual acceptance of responsibility.
- To Cooperate with federal, state, local and international government authorities for the good of the community and the emu industry.
- To encourage laws, regulations and programs agreeable to developing a viable emu industry, both domestically and internationally, within the lawful regulation of state and federal statures or guidelines.
- To acquire, preserve and disseminate data available information relative to the functions and accomplishments of the Association and its Members.
- To cooperate with state, regional and international Associations with common interests in the welfare of emu, ratites and the industry in general.
- To undertake such other functions consistent with the Bylaws that will advance the interests of the Association's Members.
- To cooperate with educational institutions and non-profit organizations concerned with related ratite matters of interest to the emu industry.
- To promote the common business interest of the Members of the Association and the industry.
